We are often asked how long does it take to get a professional corporate headshot captured?

Often potential clients need to get a professional corporate headshot taken for their business needs. Some assume that they can pop into our studio and stand against a background and get one snap taken, and that will meet their requirements. Sorry to break down any ideas that this can work as it never does. Most British people are not comfortable in front of a camera and let alone when they have a set of studio flashlights looking at them. People stand awkwardly in front of our professional camera, and we have to talk to them whilst taking pictures to get them to relax and look more natural. This can take 10 to 15 mins, and then when they have relaxed, we need another 10 mins to get a good variety of stances and expressions. So if a client ends up with approx 40 different corporate headshots, they then have a great choice to use different headshots on different social media or pitch documents. Maybe a more serious expression on a pitch document and then maybe more smiley on business social media, i.e. LinkedIn or their corporate ‘meet the team’ website page.

When clients book us to come into their London offices with our mobile studio set-up, they ask us how long does it take to get a professional corporate headshot captured? They need to know when and how long staff and directors will need to be booked in for. When we arrive at their offices, we need to spend 15 mins setting up our studio and then 5 mins to take a couple of test shoots with a person standing in our mobile studio set up. Once we are ready, we ask the client to book staff and directors in 15 min spaces. This allows us less time than our studio set up, and the reason being is that these people are on home ground. They feel more comfortable with the situation as they are in their everyday offices and take less time to relax than being in a private studio.
